LOCATION: Gallery Calaveras, 22 Main St., San Andreas (Mother Lode region)
Gallery Calaveras will be hosting a double feature on July 30. An exciting new themed art show entitled Out of the Sea will be opening and local author, Janet Langton will be on site for a book signing of her historic novel, River of Skulls.
This special event will showcase the talent of numerous local artists who have created new pieces inspired by the ocean theme just for this event. You never know what may come from the depths of the sea! Talent will be on display in oil, watercolor, pastel, ceramics, collage, fabric art, jewelry, photography, and print making and is also available for purchase. Following the reception, there will be a door prize drawing for an original art piece. You must be present to win. The show runs until August 30.
Also featured will be Janet Langton with her new historic novel. “River of Skulls unfolds in an engrossing narrative of life in California’s Gold Rush era. Careful research on the part of the author is reflected in the story’s period setting and dialogue, fulfilling the reader’s desire for authenticity. The life of a gutsy woman and her family makes this a page turner right up to the end!” – M.J. Post, artist and textile designer, Portland, OR.
