Stephanie Dahl of Mokelumne Hill is trying to raise enough money to pay for a trip to Austria, where she will represent the country in volleyball.
Stephanie Dahl of Mokelumne Hill is seeking community support to realize an opportunity to play volleyball in Europe this summer.
Dahl, who is finishing up her junior year at Calaveras High, has been invited by the People to People program to be a sports ambassador for the United States on a 10-day trip to Austria in July.
Along with gaining valuable experience as a volleyball player, Dahl will get to sight see and meet people from all around the world.
In order to make her trip a reality, Dahl still needs to raise more than $4,000 by July 4. On Sunday, she will be the beneficiary of a multi-family yard sale from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Glass Doctor parking lot, next to the Burger King in Martell.
Dahl is the daughter of Sergeant Bill Dahl, who is currently serving in Afghanistan with a Medivac unit of the National Guard.
