The time has come. We can not put this matter off any longer.
Our lives, and the quality of our lives, depend on it.
Each time someone says they don't want "Government Run Health Care"
ask them how Wall Street Run Health Care is working for them.
If they know of someone who has a cousin who had to wait for surgery in Canada, ask them if they have ever spoken directly with anyone in Canada about how they feel about their health care system.
If someone tells you that they are happy with their present coverage ask them:
1. Have they ever had to use the coverage for a serious illness? What was their direct cost?
2. Do they know anyone who works at a job they hate, rather than a job they would love, just so that they can maintain some health coverage?
3. Do they know of anyone who stays in a bad relationship with a spouse/partner because they need to access their health coverage.
4. Do they know anyone who lies about their address to qualify for an HMO?
5. Do they know anyone who has waited until they were 65 to access needed health care?
6. How does Gramma feel about her Medicare coverage?
7. Do they know anyone who has use the VA Health System in the last 10 years? (Walter Reed is NOT the VA, by the way.)
If they say that it will just cost too much in new taxes, ask them how much they are currently spending for health insurance. Be certain they include:
costs of the plan,
co-pays,
deductibles,
non-covered items,
medical payments insurance coverage under their property insurance,
medical payments coverage under all of their car insurance policies,
workman's compensation coverage for every product they buy
and all of those same insurance costs that are added onto the cost of every product/service that they procure from any business in this country.
This is the year YOU can change our world!
