The Parkinsons Disease [PD] and neurological support group "San Andreas Movers & Shakers...it's not OUR fault!" will meet on Tuesday, June 2nd from 9:45 am - 12:00 noon at the Calaveras Central Library, 891 Mountain Ranch Road in San Andreas. The group is open to all patients, caregivers, family members and friends as well as to the public. Reservations are not required and there is no cost to attend support group meetings.
The Disability Resource Agency for Independent Living, known as "DRAIL", promotes and implements the concept of independent living by aiding persons with disabilities to obtain the tools they need to be self-sufficient. The agency serves people with disabilities is Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties by assisting them to achieve their personal goals through independence and choice. DRAIL offers wide-ranging services which include Information and Referral, Individual and Systems Advocacy, referrals for housing and personal assistants as well as providing Assistive Technology Services. The agency can help disabled people find adaptive tools to stay in their own homes and become as independent as possible for as long as possible. Examples include: special eating implements, brailing equipment, adaptive computer equipment, and providing safety grab bars and ramps.
