Mokelumne River Watershed Stewardship Workshop

You are invited to an interactive Stewardship Workshop on Friday, June 15 at the Leger Hotel, Mokelumne Hill and/or June 22, Mel’s Diner in Jackson, from 9:00-12:00pm. These two facilitated sessions, led by CalFed Watershed Program facilitator, Dennis Bowker, are designed for the community to work on the actual issues at hand in the Mokelumne watershed community and with connected issues in the neighboring watersheds.

The sessions will be open to any and all who would like to attend. From these facilitated sessions, a series of agreements, plans, understandings, etc. will be developed, including means to implement any ideas generated. The workshops will provide tools to help bring diverse issues regarding the Mokelumne River Watershed into a forum to begin creating a cooperative approach to whole system management of the watershed. These workshops are not designed to create an “umbrella” organization, but rather to establish communication networks that enhance each participant’s situation and action.

We look forward to your participation in this collaborative effort. We believe that together we can produce effective long term planning that addresses the needs of the Mokelumne River system’s natural resources as well as the interests and hopes of the many and diverse stakeholders who are a part of that system.

Sincerely,

Steve Wilensky, Supervisor Calaveras
Ted Novelli, Supervisor Amador
