The Veterans Memorial District was formed in 1960 by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors. The current board members are:

The Board generally meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall. Our meeting are posted on the web page calendar. Agendas are also posted at the Town Hall and the Post Office 72 hours in advance of the meeting.
The Board is responsible for the Town Hall, the Shutter Tree Town Park, Barry's Tennis Courts, C.B. Hobbs Field, Marredda Gardens, and the horse arena with parking lot.
The Board annually hosts the 4th of July Pancake Breakfast. This year the breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. The menu is pancakes, eggs, ham, orange juice, coffee, and milk.

SANDY GULCH - Arsenic contamination in soil and water has put an end to dreams of a regional park with ball fields, hiking trails and picnic areas on a former lumber mill site in Sandy Gulch.

The Mokelumne Hill Veterans Memorial District is currently in litigation regarding the installation of lighting at Hobbs Field. The March 25 town hall meeting has been cancelled but the Veterans Board will be sending out a letter within days to all registered households which will answer some of the concerns put forward at the December meeting.
